Born in Paraguay, grew up between south America, Germany and Spain. Based in Brussels since 2008.
Leif Firnhaber has mainly been active as a (movement) artist, Dancer, Photographer, Teacher, Choreographer, Assistant & rehearsal director, Coach and independent producer.
He has worked on or behind stage and collaborated with many companies and artists in the international arena of contemporary dance, such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Damien Jalet, David Zambrano, Michelle Anne de Mey [Charleroi-Danses], Opera Houses [Luxembourg, Antwerp & Ghent], Cie. Jozef Trefeli [Switzerland] and many lesser known artists such as Saïd Gharbi [Belgium-Morocco], Carmelo Fernandez [Spain], Claudio Conti [Italy], Citlali Mendez [Mexico], Yaara Dolev [Israel], Ady Elzam [Israel], ...
Over the past 15 years he has given dance classes and workshops all over Europe, South and Central America: from professional company's such as Ultima Vez, Akram Kahn, to conservatories and choreographic centers, Theatre schools, etc. Over the past 5 years the pedagogical work has focused on people with different abilities as well as non-professional movers of all ages.
Leif is involved in healing modalities through the use of Sound (biofield tuning), Water, Breath-work, massage as well as Phyto- & Aromatheraphy.More recently he is producing short movies and documentaries, links upcoming soon.www.bastardleif.be
